I fine there is more to do around Vegas than in the actual city for me. It’s nice to see the lights, but the surrounding area is so gorgeous. I want to go back and take a trip to the Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, etc!

  4. I thought I would hate Vegas, but I loved it! A few days there was more than enough though. I loved the trip out to the Grand Canyon and surrounds.

  5. I like how you included things to do in the surrounding areas. A lot of people just go to the strip (including me, haha). But since I lived so close, it was easy to just make a weekend trip to Vegas. My favorite things to do on the Strip is to catch a show and indulge in the buffets!

  6. Loved Vegas, both times. Hopefully I’ll get to go a third time. Thanks for linking this up to #SundayTraveler it was great to see it again.

  7. Some people go to Vegas for the casinos and gambling. I go to Vegas to EAT! Gotta love the buffets.

  9. Hello, on behalf of Christa, host of The Sunday Traveler, I was stopping by to check out your article. One of the things I love about Vegas is there’s plenty to do for little money. When i went there a few years ago for under $20 bucks I purchased a 3 day pass to ride the ‘Double Deuce’ which went up and down the strip and had a stop at Fremont Street to visit and frequent the old strip. There’s plenty to see and every hotel has a theme where you can take in the sights and often a mini-show of sorts for free. Everything just rakes a little planning and a lot of walking. Loved it!

      Hey Christa,

I’ve never been to Vegas – this is actually a guest post. I always thought Vegas would be about wild parties, gambling and strip clubs. I’m quite the party animal, but I don’t actively seek out party spots when I travel, so Vegas was never so popular on my list; after reading all your comments though, I feel genuinely tempted now! 🙂
